The Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (JSC Ukrzaliznytsia) will begin selling guaranteed transport services via the Prozorro.Sales electronic auction platform in April, the CFTS portal reports.
According to Ukrzaliznytsia’s Director of Finance and Economics Andrii Riazantsev, the company will sell guaranteed transport services several months in advance.
As Ukrzaliznytsia explained, the advantage of such services to shippers is fixed prices. For Ukrzaliznytsia, it is also beneficial to Ukrzaliznytsia because it will generate funds for financing preparation of traction and rolling stock.
"We will offer future transport services to customers at a fixed price, which will be determined at an auction. It is attractive to the cargo owner because he will receive guaranteed shipments at a specific and fixed price. This is also beneficial to Ukrzaliznytsia, which will receive funds for financing preparatory work on traction and rolling stock," Riazantsev said. "A client that purchases this service will be sure that he will receive a comprehensive service within a certain period specified in the terms of sale. The carrier will pay a penalty if it violates these terms.”
As reported earlier, the right to use 515 Ukrzaliznytsia wagons had been purchased at ProZorro auctions as of as of January 30.
