New tariff rates for use of gondola cars and grain hoppers belonging to the Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) came into effect on September 5.
According to the Freight Transportation in Ukraine information service, the relevant rate changes were published in the new version of the Agreement on Provision of Services involving Organization Rail Transport on 4 September, the CFTS portal reports. The rates for other types of rolling stock remain unchanged because the previously published rate changes for dump cars and mineral carriers will take effect on September 21.
The new rate for a gondola car and a grain carrier will be UAH 800 per day (excluding VAT). This rate is 11% and 30% lower than the current rates, respectively.
A further rate increase for grain wagons was also announced. The rate will rise to UAH 900 per day on October 6 and UAH 1,000 per day on November 5.
As the CFTS reported earlier, the State Regulatory Service has refused to approve the Ministry of Infrastructure’s draft order that proposed establishing a single tariff rate for empty wagons of all classes.
