The Ukrzaliznytsia public joint-stock railway company has launched daily operation of two passenger trains between Ukraine and Romania. The trains connected the Vadul Siret station (Chernivtsi region) with the Romanian cities of Bucharest and Suceava on 13 December, the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia announced.
The Vadul Siret–Bucharest train No. 380 will depart from the Vadul Siret station (Chernivtsi region) at 13:40 and arrive in Bucharest (Romania) at 22:48. On the return journey, the train will depart at 06:15 and arrive at the Vadul Siret station at 15:40.
The Vadul Siret–Suceava train No. 385 will depart from the Vadul Siret station at 16:35 and arrive in Bucharest at 18:45. On the return journey, it will depart at 10:55 and arrive at the Vadul Siret station 12 35.
Tickets for these trains are already available at Ukrzaliznytsia ticket offices. To travel by train to Bucharest and Suceava, passengers from other Ukrainian cities can reach the Vadul Siret station with a changeover in Chernivtsi.
A Moscow–Sofia train operated between Ukraine and Romania until December 2014.
Resumption of direct rail links between Ukraine and the Czech Republic and the opening of additional routes to Poland have also been reported.
