Ukrzaliznytsia will launch a high-speed train between Kyiv and Kherson before the end of 2019.

The company’s Board Chairman Yevhen Kravtsov announced this during a working visit to Kherson on October 2.

“We are seeing an increase in passenger traffic to Kherson today. Therefore, we are working on the issue of operating another high-speed train on this route. Two Intercity high-speed trains and one night train will thus operate on this route by the end of this year,” the head of Ukrzaliznytsia said.

The Intercity speed train No. 766 and the passenger night train No. 102 currently operate on the Kyiv-Kherson route.

As reported previously, construction of the Chongar and Kalanchak checkpoints on the administrative border with the Russian-annexed Crimea will be completed within one month.
