The Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (JSC Ukrzaliznytsia) plans to launch mass production of grain wagons at the Paniutynskyi railcar repair plant next year, producing up to 60 wagons per month.

The director of Ukrzaliznytsia’s railcar management department, Oleh Motin, announced this at the Ukrainian Logistics Business Forum on May 22, the CFTS portal reports.

"We have tested 120-cubic-meter grain cars. We plan to launch its production at the Paniutynskyi railcar repair plant in 2020," said Motin.

According to him, the plant will be capable of producing up to 60 railcars per month. “I think this should cover Ukrzaliznytsia’s needs for grain carriers in the near future,” he said

As the CFTS portal reported earlier, Ukrzaliznytsia recently produced its own grain carriers for the first time. The grain carriers were produced at the Paniutynskyi railcar repair plant.

These grain carriers have a volume of 120 cubic meters, compared with the old grain carriers’ maximum volume of 94 cubic meters. They design speed is up to 120 kilometers per hour.
