According to the latest data, the Ukrainian railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) transported 12.06 million tons of cargoes in October 2022, which is 380,000 tons or 3.3% more than the volume it transported in September 2022.
Valerii Tkachev, deputy director of the department of commercial operations at Ukrzaliznytsia, provided this data, the CFTS portal reports.
Ukrzaliznytsia transported 5.186 million tons of export cargoes in October, including 3.059 million tons of grain cargoes.
Ukrzaliznytsia transported 3.598 million tons of grain in October (a 5.8% increase compared with the volume it transported in September), a monthly record volume since the beginning of the full-scale war.
It also transported 288,600 tons of cement, 2,215,300 tons of coal, and 1,953,100 tons of construction materials.
In addition, the company transported 1,425,900 tons of iron/manganese ore (a 4.3% reduction compared with September) and up to 628,500 tons of ferrous metals (a 9.2% reduction compared with September).
Ukrzaliznytsia transported 129.9 million tons of cargoes in the period of January-October 2022; it transported 117.8 million tons in the period of January-September 2022.
For comparison, Ukrzaliznytsia transported 258.4 million tons of cargoes in January-October 2021 and 28.7 million tons in October 2021.
