Azimuth Specialized Technical Bureau LLC has won the tender for maintenance dredging of the approach channel and water area of the Mariupol seaport, according to the tender results published in the ProZorro electronic public procurement system.
The CFTS portal reported this, citing information from the Ukrainian Seaports Authority (USPA).
"The successful conduct of the auction is an important event for Ukrainian shipping in the Sea of Azov. Thanks to open tenders, we have not only saved UAH 90 million, but also created conditions for improving the competitiveness of the Mariupol seaport, which has recently found itself in difficult conditions due to the situation in Kerch Strait," the USPA’s head Raivis Veckagans said. He added that another tender was expected in the near future, following which a similar problem at another Ukrainian seaport on the Sea of Azov (the Berdiansk seaport) would be solved.
Three of the seven companies that submitted applications to participate in the tender for dredging in the Mariupol seaport were approved to participate: Ukrstroyservis LLC (Ukraine), Consal S.R.L. (Romania), and Azimuth Specialized Technical Bureau LLC (Ukraine). Azimuth Specialized Technical Bureau LLC won the tender by offering to perform the dredging operation at the lowest price.
The starting price was set at UAH 460 million (excluding VAT).
The company will perform dredging work contractor shall perform 1.9 million cubic meters of dredging work in the Mariupol seaport. The main work (1.79 million cubic meters) will be performed on the approach channel to the Coal Harbor and 115,000 cubic meters in the port’s waters.
