The Vinnytsia airport served 29,500 passengers in 2016, which is almost three times more than it served in the previous year. The Vinnytsia airport’s Director Yaroslav Mazurets announced this in an interview with the CFTS portal.

"The airport handled 29,500 passengers and received more than 600 flights last year. Passenger traffic nearly tripled, and the number of flights doubled," said the head of the airport. The airport served 9,800 passengers in 2015.

According to Mazurets, passengers handled by the airport can be divided into four nearly equal groups: passengers on scheduled flights to Warsaw, passengers on scheduled flights to Tel Aviv, passengers on charter flights to Turkey, and Hasidic pilgrims arriving under special charter program.

As reported previously, Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) began operating two regular flights (to Warsaw and Tel Aviv) from the Vinnytsia airport in 2016.
