The Wizz Air low-cost airline has transported 7 million passengers on flights to/from Ukraine since entering the Ukrainian market in 2008.

The airline announced this in a statement on December 17, the CFTS portal reports.

"The airline has transported 7 million passengers on its flights since beginning operations on the Ukrainian market in 2008, and it continues to expand its operations and provide Ukrainian passengers with affordable travel opportunities, offering flights on 43 routes to 12 European countries from Ukraine," the company said.

As reported earlier, Wizz Air stated in June this year that it had transported 6.4 million passengers in its 10 years of operation in in Ukraine.

It was reported in November that the airline carried more than 1.2 million passengers on flights to and from Ukraine in the period of in January-October 2018, which is 2.1 times more than the number it carried in the corresponding period of 2017.

As the CFTS portal reported, Wizz Air began operating flights on the Lviv - Frankfurt-Hahn route on December 14. According to the airline, it transported 119 passengers on the first flight from the Frankfurt airport to Lviv.

Wizz Air has transported 220,000 passengers to and from the Lviv airport in 2018. This is almost five times more than the number of passengers it transported to and from the airport in 2017.
