The Yanair airline will suspend flights from Kyiv to Batumi in April and launch flights from Kyiv to Riga on 20 May, the avianews.com publication reports.

"Flights to Batumi will resume on April 30. Flights are being suspended due to optimization of the flight schedule in connection with low demand. Instead, an additional flight to Tbilisi will be added," the airline’s Deputy General Director Oleksii Tarasov told the publication.

The passengers that have already bought tickets for the canceled flights will be able to recover their money, postpone their flights to a later date, or change their routes to Kyiv-Tbilisi.

The Riga airport informed avianews.com about the launch of daily flights between Kyiv and Riga by Yanair. According to Tarasov, the airline plans to launch flights to the capital of Latvia, but ticket sales have not yet begun.

At the same time, the Yanair official said that the flights might be launched at a later date because the airline secured the right to perform flights from Kyiv to Riga not so long ago and needs to go through the necessary procedures.
