The Odesa Railway, a division of the Ukrzaliznytsia public railway company, plans to increase the throughput capacity of railways in the direction of the Yuzhny seaport to 78 pairs of trains from the current 52. This will be made possible by continuing the reconstruction of the Black Sea-Beregovaya railway stretch in the direction of the Yuzhny seaport and construction of a second rail track.

The Odesa Railway’s first deputy head Viacheslav Yeremin announced this at a conference on the "Investment Potential of the Odesa Region," the CFTS correspondent reports.

According to Yeremin, the fourth phase of the reconstruction of this railway stretch is currently being implemented. This phase involves construction of the second main track along the 5-10-12 kilometer stretch and the 24-27 kilometer stretch. This phase of the project will be financed by investors: the 5-10 kilometer stretch by the Promtekhinnovatsia company, the 10-12 kilometer stretch by the Khlibna Havan Trading House, and the 24-27 kilometer stretch by the PIK limited liability company. This phase of the project will increase the throughput capacity to 67 pairs of trains.

The next phase will involve construction of a passing siding along the 29-30 kilometer stretch and a second main track on the 30 kilometer-Beregovaya Station stretch. The investor in the construction of the passing siding will be the Allseeds Black Sea limited liability company and the investors in the construction of the track will be the Allseeds Black Sea limited liability company and the Prichaly Kominterna limited liability company.

In addition, there are plans to reconstruct the Beregovaya station in the coming years (with investment from the Yuzhny seaport, Allseeds Black Sea, and Prichaly Kominterna). 

As reported, the TIS company, the Borivage company, and the Ukrzaliznytsia public railway company opened the second main track near the Yuzhny seaport in November 2015, thus increasing the throughput capacity of the railway stretch from 44 to 52 pairs of trains.

The TIS company and the Odesa railway opened the "12-kilometer" siding in late 2013, which increased the throughput capacity of the railway stretch from 33 to 44 pairs of trains.
