The Aeroflot airline will resume flights on the Moscow (Sheremetyevo)-Odessa route on October 11, the press service of the Odessa airport announced in a statement.
According to the announced timetable, two flights will be operated every day. The aircraft will arrive in Odessa at 00:55 and 09:55 and depart for Moscow at 02:40 and 10:45, Kiev time. The flight duration will be two hours.
Flights are currently operated from Odessa to Moscow’s Domodedovo and Vnukovo airports.
As reported, Aeroflot decided to cancel all flights to Odessa and Dnepropetrovsk until 30 September after the crash of the Malaysia Airlines’ Boeing 777 airliner in the Donetsk region on July 17. Aeroflot also said that the number of its flights to Ukraine has reduced from 72 to 52 per week. The company suspended flights to Kharkiv and Donetsk on May 2.
In addition, Aeroflot operates transit flights that bypass the Ukrainian airspace, which, according to preliminary estimates by the company, will lead to additional costs of approximately USD 20 million per year.
