The third Elektron tram has been delivered to Kyiv under a contract that was concluded last year.
As reported, the Kyivpastrans municipal transport company signed a contract with the Elektrontrans company for purchase of seven 30-meter trams at the cost of UAH 183.75 million (including VAT) in October 2015.
The low-floor trams cost UAH 26.25 million each.
According data that Kyivpastrans provided before the start of implementation of the contract with Elektron, only 39 out of the 418 trams operating in Kyiv have been in operation for no longer than 10 years; 232 were in need of upgrade, having been in service for more than 30 years; the city’s annual demand is for 50 new trams.
