The An-132 demonstrator aircraft, which is the latest aircraft to be developed by the Antonov state aircraft manufacturing enterprise, was rolled out at the Antonov serial production plant (formerly known as Aviant aircraft manufacturing plant) on Tuesday. Serial production of the aircraft will be established in Saudi Arabia, the CFTS correspondent reports.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko gave the command to roll out the aircraft at 12:35 (on December 20).
The An-132 aircraft was assembled over a period of about one year. The assembly of its wing was completed in April. Foreign-made equipment was then installed on the aircraft: electronics from Honeywell International (United), an integrated air system from Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS (France), screws by Dowty Propellers (United Kingdom), auxiliary power units by Hamilton Sundstrand (United States), and engines by Pratt & Whitney (Canada).
The Antonov state aircraft manufacturing enterprise estimates the market demand for the An-132 aircraft at 300. The new aircraft is intended to replace the obsolete An-32. The potential buyers of the aircraft are considered countries in the Middle East, South Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
As reported, the Antonov state aircraft manufacturing enterprise rolled out the new An-178 aircraft in April 2015.
