The Antonov state aircraft manufacturing enterprise has decided to name its aircraft after the hero cities of the Russian-Ukrainian war to honor the heroism and resilience of Ukrainians.

The Antonov state aircraft manufacturing enterprise announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

"To celebrate Ukrainian Statehood Day and honor the true heroism and resilience that our country’s citizens have shown in the resistance to the Russian Federation’s massive armed aggression against Ukraine, the Antonov state enterprise joins the ‘Be Brave Like Ukraine’ campaign: the company's planes are being given the names of hero cities," the company said in the statement.

Antonov’s aircraft will carry the following inscriptions:

- ВЕ BRAVE LIKE BUCHA (the An-124-100 aircraft with the tail number UR82029);

- BE BRAVE LIKE IRPIN (the An-124-100 aircraft with the tail number UR82073); 

- BE BRAVE LIKE KHARKIV (the An-124-100M aircraft with the tail number UR82027); 

- BE BRAVE LIKE MYKOLAIV (the An-124-100M aircraft with the tail number UR82007); 

- BE BRAVE LIKE OKHTYRKA (the An-124-100M aircraft with the tail number UR82008); 

- BE BRAVE LIKE KHERSON (the An-124-100-150 aircraft with the tail number UR82072); 

- BE BRAVE LIKE MARIUPOL (the An-124-100M-150 aircraft with the tail number UR82009);

- BE BRAVE LIKE CHERNIHIV (the An-28 aircraft with the tail number UR-NTE); 

- BE BRAVE LIKE VOLNOVAKHA (the An-158 aircraft with the tail number UR-EXJ); 

- BE BRAVE LIKE HOSTOMEL (the An-178 aircraft with the tail number UR-EXP).

"On their wings, they will carry around the world the most recent history of Ukrainians, who have given everything for the preservation of their Motherland and given a courageous rebuff to the Russian invaders. The names of the hero cities of Ukraine should resound above the planet so that their feat can inspire unity against a common misfortune, inspire new achievements and victory!" Antonov said in the statement.

As reported earlier, the management of the Antonov state aircraft manufacturing enterprise has announced that it plans to rebuild the An-225 Mriya strategic airlift cargo aircraft that was destroyed at the Hostomel airfield by the Russian invaders after the war.
