The Kyiv subway has presented an automated payment system at the Klovska subway station. Cash desks selling tokens no longer exist at the subway station, although passengers can still use tokens at two turnstiles.

According to the Kyiv subway, all types of payment for travel in the subway are made at a single terminal. Passengers can buy tickets with a QR code, top-up their travel cards, pay with bank cards, or use cash.

According to the Kyiv municipal administration’s deputy head Mykola Povoroznik, the payment system will be introduced at the University, Druzhba Narodiv, Lybidska, Polytechnic Institute subway stations after its trial period at the Klovska subway station. All subway stations will switch to automated operation in the future.

The Kyiv subway’s head Viktor Brahinskyi said that the company's specialists were also developing the option of online replenishment of tickets via a mobile application.
