In the period of January-December 2018, the Black Sea port of Chornomorsk increased cargo transshipment by 25% to 21.5 million tons in 2018, compared with last year, the CFTS portal reports.

According to the state-owned Ukrainian Seaports Authority, in 2018, the Chornomorsk seaport increased transshipment of export cargo by 17% to 16.4 million tons, doubled transshipment of import cargo to 4.2 million tons, increased transshipment of transit cargoes 10% to 804,000 tons, and increased transshipment of coastal cargoes six-fold to 51,200 tons.

Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo reduced by 10% to 1.6 million tons, transshipment of dry cargo increased by 12.8% to 14.5 million tons, and transshipment of unitized cargoes doubled to 5.4 million tons in 2018. Container transshipment totaled 122,597 TEU.

The volume of transshipment of vegetable oil at the Chornomorsk seaport reduced by 6% to 1.5 million tons and the volume of transshipment of petroleum products by 26% to 55,000 tons.

Transshipment of bulk cargo increased by 80% to 1.9 million tons and transshipment of coke increased six-fold to 60,600 tons. Transshipment of coal reduced by 18% to 297,000 tons

Transshipment of unitized cargoes increased due to an increase in the volume of transshipment of metal products. This indicator rose 2.4-fold to 1 million tons in 2018. In addition, the volume of transshipment of timber increased by 80% to 124,000 tons and the volume of processing of heavy vehicles increased by 52% to 1.8 million tons.
