The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will finance the reconstruction of the Dnipro-Mariupol and Dnipro-Kotivka highways in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

This was announced by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s senior adviser on external relations Anton Usov, the CFTS portal reports, citing the Interfax Ukraine news agency.

"The head of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Oleksandr Bondarenko, and the EBRD’s head in Ukraine Mark Magaletsky have signed an agreement to begin preparing a project for reconstruction of roads in the region. The project cost is estimated at EUR 50 million," he said.

Goods and services for this project will be procured in strict accordance with the rules of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development after approval of the project by the bank’s board and the signing of the relevant agreement.

According to Usov, work in this area began in October 2019 during the “Re: Think. Invest in Ukraine” investment forum, which was held in Mariupol last fall.

As reported earlier, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development could provide the Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) EUR 150 million in emergency support for the company's liquidity in order to mitigate the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
