The Ilyichevsk seaport (Odessa region) introduced compulsory simultaneous registration of orders for imported containers in both paper and electronic form in the Port Community Information System from 08:00 on June 2, the press office of the Ministry of Infrastructure has announced.

This test processing of orders will last 2-3 months, after which a complete switch to electronic processing will be made. Only vehicles possessing electronic orders for imported containers will be allowed to enter the territory of the port.

"The Port Community Information System automatically assigns an order number to every electronic order. This number is required to gain access to the container terminal of the Ilyichevsky port. The system automatically determines the priority for processing containers,” the press office quoted Artiom Kiriukhin, the head of the department for coordinating commercial operations at the Ilyichevsky port administration, as saying.

According to him, the main purpose of introduction of the Port Community Information System is to minimize contact between forwarding companies and the regulatory authorities.
