The Russian army is reinforcing its units in southern Ukraine with manpower and equipment, both from the Crimea and via a newly built railroad connecting parts of the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions with Russia through the Donetsk region.
As the CFTS portal reported, citing the Ukrinform news agency, Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, announced this in a statement.
"The enemy is reinforcing its forces, transferring equipment and weapons from Crimea and the railway line that the enemy finished building at the end of 2024 and has already put into operation. In addition, they use, of course, all other modes of transportation, including roads. Because there are highways both from Crimea and Russia along the Azov coast near Mariupol, then on to Melitopol and Berdiansk. That is why they use combined transport routes. After all, the enemy knows we are trying to bring their logistics routes under fire control, strike at logistics routes and logistics hubs," Voloshyn said.
Asked about the destruction of the railway line built by the enemy, Voloshyn noted that it had been attacked many times, but the enemy quickly repaired the sections damaged in the attacks.
