Export of freight cars to Russia by Ukrainian railcar enterprises reduced by 3,400 or 80% to 700 in 2015, RZD-Partner reports, citing materials from the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers.
Exports of practically all types of railcars fell significantly in 2015. Hopper cars accounted for 55% of Ukraine’s total railcar exports to Russia was highest in 2015, (compared with 44% in 2014). However, export of hopper cars reduced by 75% to 400.
Gondola cars accounted for about 40% of total railcar exports to Russia (compared with 25% in 2014). Export of gondola cars to Russia also fell by 70% to 300.
The biggest fall was in export of tank cars and covered cars to Russia – their exports reduced from 200 in 2014 to 45 in 2015 and from 500 in 2014 to 2 in 2015, respectively.
As reported, exports of Ukrainian railcars to Russia fell by 77% in 2014, with export of freight cars falling by 96% and export of hopper cars by 60%.
