The ongoing war in Ukraine has caused the Polish capital to once again become the site of a global debate on food security.

Poland as a logistics hub for Ukraine has become its largest window to the world. That is why in Warsaw, but also in key ports in Gdynia and Gdańsk, we want to talk to our Partners, experts, market regulators and entrepreneurs about global food security.

Cereals, oilseeds, pulses, logistics, processing - these are the key areas of discussion as part of the international conference, organized for the second time - "Agro-Food Security Forum 2023".

We want this event to become an important meeting place for representatives of the governments of Poland and Ukraine, international organizations and business.

We expect the participation of representatives of over 20 countries, which will translate into conclusions formulated during the panels that may constitute a framework for shaping international policy in the dimension of global and regional food security.

On behalf of the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and the Association of Producers and Consumers of Pulses of Ukraine, I invite you to participate in the Agro&Food Security Forum.

The conference will focus on issues including:

  • functioning of global agricultural markets, including: production of cereals, oilseeds and pulses and price trends;
  • problems of the Ukrainian agro-industrial complex - agricultural export potential in the new season;
  • the need to transform the global logistics system;
  • Polish-Ukrainian cooperation in the agricultural sector, also in the EU context;
  • further strengthening the role of European transport corridors for the global agricultural sector.

In the context of the topic, it is important for us to have our event under the patronage of the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine.

During the war, in the first moment, as the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, we focused primarily on improving the standard of service at the border, creating efficient transport corridors, integrating migrants and supporting Ukrainian entrepreneurship, as well as rebuilding small infrastructure. We face long-term challenges, including the security of the food supply chain.

We hope that in the face of current challenges, we will jointly enter into a substantive discussion focused on cooperation. The Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce has been operating in Poland and Ukraine in parallel for 30 years, remaining there even after Russia's aggression.

We are one of the oldest bilateral chambers of commerce in Poland. Our mission is to be a center of knowledge, support, inspiration and exchange of experiences that serve the development of Polish-Ukrainian cooperation. We participate in the work of the Intergovernmental Commission for Polish-Ukrainian Economic Cooperation.

We cooperate with the Government Representative for Polish-Ukrainian development cooperation. We are committed to building platforms for discussion and exchange of experiences. We hope that the Agro&Food Security Forum will become a permanent event in the calendars of this market participants and will become an important place for expert debate.
