Representatives of the Japan-based NYK Line shipping company (RoRo Division) have visited the Chornomorsk port, where they familiarized themselves with the operating capabilities of the port’s ferry terminal. There is high probability that the company will start operating in the port this year.

The CFTS portal reported this, citing the state-owed Chornomorsk port.

According to the Chornomorsk port, the port’s Director Serhii Kryzhanovskyi received an official delegation consisting of representatives of the NYK Line (RoRo Division) and its Ukrainian agent MICS LTD. The Japanese familiarized themselves with the port’s infrastructure and rated it as satisfactory.

According to the Chornomorsk port, the first call at the port by a vessel belonging to the NYK Line (RoRo Division) in the first quarter of 2017 could be a practical outcome of the meeting.

NYK Line is Japan's largest shipping company. It is part of the Mitsubishi Group. RoRo Division is the world's largest RoRo ocean carrier.
