Transgrainterminal Ltd. and a regional office of the State Property Fund of Ukraine signed an agreement on lease of property at the state-owned Ilyichevsk Commercial Seaport on 22 January. According to the Ilyichevsk Commercial Seaport’s Deputy Director for Investment and Development S. Perepelytsia, the private company has taken a long-term lease on the warehouse No. 8 (behind the berths Nos. 14-15), the Volvo platform, the ABK building, and a dining hall. This was announced by the press service of the Ilyichevsk Commercial Seaport.

Transgrainterminal and the Ilyichevsk Commercial Seaport also concluded an agreement on participation in maintenance of port infrastructure and a social agreement on preservation of the social guarantees of workers when they transfer to the company.

Transgrainterminal Ltd. is part of the Kernel group of companies, which already has a grain handling complex with a storage capacity of 200,000 tons, where Transbulkterminal Ltd. Operates, at the Ilyichevsk Commercial Seaport.

The company plans to invest in this project USD 100 million and create a grain handling complex with a storage capacity of 300,000 tons and an annual processing capacity of about 5 million tons of grain cargoes on the leased premises.

As reported, the first pilot project with the Trans-Service company involving processing and storage of grain cargoes at the terminal No. 3 began at the Ilyichevsk seaport on 1 October 2014. Under this project, a package of agreements outlining the mechanism for mutual relations between the state-owned port and the investor in the area of effective use of state property was signed.

A similar package of agreements is expected to be signed during implementation of the second public-private partnership (PPP) project with Transgrainterminal, according to a press release by the Ilyichevsk Commercial Seaport.
