This is the busiest railway section in the country, and it facilitates the transit of goods from Romania and Ukraine.

The rehabilitation project involves the overhaul of almost 80 kilometers of railway tracks and the maintenance of approximately 153 kilometers.

After completion of the rehabilitation work, passenger trains will be able to operate at a speed of approximately 120 km/h and freight trains at a speed of 90 km/h in this railway section.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) are supporting the performance of the rehabilitation work.

During a conversation with the management of Temirzhol Zhondeu LLC, which is the contractor for the project, Dabija emphasized the importance of the implementation of the project and asked the company to intensify its efforts to speed up the planned rehabilitation works.

The contractor said it was performing the maintenance work, concluding contracts with suppliers of materials, and preparing equipment for the performance of the work.
