Passenger traffic through the Boryspil international airport increased by 12% to 1.512 million million in the period of January-March this year, compared with the corresponding period of last year, the press service of the airport reports.

The airport’s share of the total volume of aircraft traffic in Ukraine reached almost 70%.

The number of transit passengers increased 2.4-fold from 168,000 in the first quarter of last year to 400,000 in the first quarter of this year.

According to the airport’s acting General Director Yevhen Dykhne, the airport has set itself the goal of serving 7.4 million passengers in 2016, which is 13% higher than its target for 2015. Based on the actual data (it handled 7.277 million people in 2015), passenger traffic will increase by only 1.7% compared with a 5.6% increase in 2015.
