The volume of passenger traffic through Ukrainian airports reduced by 54.3% to 1.840 million in the first three months of 2021, compared with the corresponding period of 2020.

This is stated in the latest data from the State Aviation Service of Ukraine, the CFTS portal reports.

According to the data, Ukrainian airports handled 1.617 million passengers on international flights during the first three months of 2021, a 55.4% reduction compared with the corresponding period of 2020.

Ukrainian airlines carried 1.089 million passengers in the first three months of 2021 (43.9% fewer than they carried in the corresponding period of 2020). They carried 0.980 million passengers on international flights (43.9% fewer compared with the corresponding period of 2020).

Ukrainian airlines operated 10,300 commercial flights in the first three months of 2021 (a 37.6% reduction compared with the corresponding period of 2020), including 7,900 international flights (42.7% reduction).

As reported earlier, the Kharkiv airport recorded an increase in passenger traffic in March, the first increase since the beginning of the quarantine. The Boryspil international airport handled 1,206,411 passengers in the first three months of 2021, a 50% reduction compared with 2,436,875 in the corresponding period of 2020.
