Polish railway operator PKP Intercity will introduce a new international train timetable in mid-December. Among the novelties in the timetable is the introduction of direct trains between Warsaw and Lviv, Rynek Kolejowy reports.
"Direct wagons from Wroclaw and Warsaw will go to Lviv through Krakow. Their timetable will no longer change," said Marta Ziemska, a spokesperson for PKP Intercity. According to her, this information is not yet reflected in the timetable. Wagons from Warsaw will be included in international trains operating between Wroclaw and Lviv.
The press service of the Lviv Railway said that one direct wagon would operate from Lviv to Warsaw as part of a Lviv-Wroclaw train. The wagons will be disconnected in Krakow, with one going to Warsaw and the other to Wroclaw.
Only one night train – the Lviv Express – currently travels from Poland to Lvov. It runs daily from Wroclaw through Krakow. The train departs from Wroclaw at 16:54 (local time) and arrives in Lviv at 6:03 or 7:15 (depending on date). It departs from Lviv at 22:59 and arrives in Wroclaw at 10:55 (local time). Until July this year, the train operated on a shortened Krakow-Lviv route.
