President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the draft laws No. 8487 and No. 8488 on customs clearance of foreign-registered cars.

Funds from customs clearance of such vehicles will be used to finance the Pension Fund’s deficit, indexation of pensions, and payments to recipients of the minimum pension, the CFTS portal reports.

"I have signed the laws No. 8487 and No. 8488, which legalize cars with European registration numbers that were imported in violation of customs and tax laws. All the funds generated from this will go to the Pension Fund for financing its deficit, indexation of pensions, and payments primarily to those who receive the minimum pension. This is clearly and unambiguously stipulated in the law,” Poroshenko wrote on his Facebook page.
