The Prydniprovska railway’s Crimean directorate reduced freight transportation by 32% or 501,000 tons to 1.077 million tons in March, compared with March 2013, the press service of the State Railway Administration (Ukrzaliznytsia) has announced.
Compared with February this year, the directorate’s freight traffic volume reduced by 391,000 tons or 26.6% in March.
The directorate transported 19,266 tons of imported goods, 292,500 tons of export goods, 229,700 tons of transit goods, and 535,700 tons of domestic goods in March.
Passenger traffic in the Crimean direction reduced by 40% compared with March 2013. Passenger traffic between Crimea and Russia reduced by 21-23%.
