Russia has banned cargo trucks registered in Ukraine from passing through its territory in response to the blocking of Russian trucks from passing through Ukraine. The Russian Ministry of Transport announced this in a statement.
"These measures will remain in place until the Ukrainian side resolves the situation involving the illegal blocking of Russian cargo trucks on the territory of Ukraine," the statement said.
The Russian Ministry of Transport said that protesters in Ukraine began blocking Russian trucks on 11 February.
The ministry said that as of Sunday, more than 100 trucks from Russia were being blocked in various regions of Ukraine and more than 500 trucks returning from the European Union to Russia were unable to enter Ukraine.
