The cargo turnovers of Russian Federation’s seaports totaled 553.3 million tons in the period of January-August 2022, an increase of only 0.1% compared with the corresponding period of 2021.
Russia’s Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport (Rosmorrechflot) announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.
The volume of transshipment of dry cargoes reduced by 4.9% to 260.9 million tons and the volume of transshipment of bulk cargoes increased by 4.9% to 292.4 million tons.
According to the statement, the combined cargo turnover of the seaports in the Baltic basin reduced in the first eight months of this year. Their combined cargo turnover reduced by 1.3% to 163.5 million tons, including 63.8 million tons of dry cargoes (an 18.2% reduction) and 99.7 million tons of bulk cargoes (a 13.8% increase) during this period.
The combined cargo turnover of the seaports in the Azov-Black Sea basin did not change in the first eight months of this year, compared with the corresponding period of last year. It amounted to 169.9 million tons, including 75.1 million tons of dry cargoes (a 0.3% increase) and 94.8 million tons of bulk cargoes (a 0.2% reduction).
The combined cargo turnover of the seaports in the Far Eastern Basin increased by 0.7% to 151 million tons, including 101.7 million tons of dry cargoes (a 1.4% increase) and 49.3 million tons of bulk cargoes (a 0.8% reduction).
As reported previously, Russia continues to export its petroleum products to Europe by sea despite its vessels being banned from entering ports in EU countries.
