Out of 35 railway station buildings designated as architectural landmarks in Ukraine, three have been destroyed in Russian attacks.
The Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.
The three railway stations are in Popasna, Kostiantynivka, and Bakhmut.
According to Ukrzaliznytsia, the railway station in Popasna, built at the end of the 19th century, was destroyed in June 2022.
The station in Bakhmut, built at the beginning of the 20th century and reconstructed in 2015, stopped receiving passengers in May 2022. The battles for the city from 2022 to early 2023 almost destroyed the station.
Russian missiles destroyed the railway station in Kostiantynivka on the night of 24-25 February 2024. Although it had not received trains for a long time, it served as a "point of resilience."
