All the 200,000 tons of grain that was harvested in the Ukrainian company Agroton’s fields in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region have been transported to Russia.
Liubov Bezkorovaina, the deputy director of the Luhansk regional administration’s department of agro-industrial development, announced this in a statement, citing the Luhansk regional military/civilian administration’s head Serhii Haidai, the CFTS portal reports.
"We expected the largest harvest of all time this year. We even hoped to surpass the record that was set in 2021. Monitoring by PJSC Agroton showed that the yield was up to 60 centners per hectare in some fields. This was made possible by the painstaking work of our farmers, who used their own and state funds for the development of enterprises, upgraded their equipment, purchased the best mineral fertilizers, and successfully took advantage of multimillion-dollar government programs. But, unfortunately, our grain is currently being harvested for the Russians," Bezkorovaina said.
She added that the heads of many agricultural enterprises have fled to safe regions of Ukraine and re-registered their businesses there.
As reported earlier, Russian occupiers have stolen up to 200,000 tons of grain from the HarvEast agricultural holding’s facilities in the temporarily occupied eastern regions of Ukraine. According to the report, 50,000 tons of crops were taken out of storage and transported to the Russian Federation in Russian trucks. In addition, 150,000 tons were harvested from fields that the company no longer controls.
