The Turkish Airlines has canceled its Istanbul-Dnepropetrovsk-Istanbul flights TK435/TK436 scheduled for July 22, 23, and 24, the press office of the airline company announced.
The decision to cancel the flights was based on recommendations by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (Eurocontrol) to refrain from flights to Dnepropetrovsk.
"Passengers of the canceled Turkish Airlines flights can change their departure dates and cities or apply for refunds in accordance with the airline’s standard flight-cancellation rules," said the airline.
As reported, Eurocontrol earlier said that the Ukrainian authorities have banned civil aircraft from flying over the eastern part of the country, which is on the zone of responsibility of the Dnepropetrovsk structural unit of the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE). However, the Ministry of Infrastructure has clarified that the airspace is closed only over the Donetsk and Lugansk regions and part of the Kharkov region.
