The State Automobile Road Service (Ukravtodor) is imposing restriction on the movement of heavy trucks during the daytime, when atmospheric temperatures exceed 28 degrees, effective from 1 June. The press service of Ukravtodor announced this in a statement.
This restriction will apply to vehicles with total weights of over 24 tons with loads of 7 tons or more per axle. Such vehicles will be banned from all roads of national importance under such weather conditions.
The ban will remain in force from 10:00 to 22:00 throughout the summer.
With the help of such measures, Ukravtodor is trying to stop the destruction of roads and increase traffic safety.
More than 800 roadside sites have been prepared for temporary parking of large vehicles.
