An An-124 Ruslan strategic airlift aircraft belonging to the Antonov Airlines company has transported an 82-ton shaft mounted on a special frame from Sharjah (UAE) to Billund (Denmark).
This is the most complex transport project that the airline has implemented this year, the CFTS portal reports.
According to the Antonov state aircraft manufacturing enterprise, it was necessary for the aircraft to take off at the lowest possible ambient temperature at night because of the heat and the cargo’s total weight of 90 tons. In addition, the loading/unloading process had to be completed during daylight hours because working at night is prohibited at Sharjah Airport.
The Antonov Airlines’ airplanes that are currently based in Leipzig continue to fly around the world, Antonov said. The company currently operates five An-124 aircraft.
