The surfaces of 4,056 kilometers of roads of national importance were laid or repaired in Ukraine in 2020.
This was announced by the State Road Agency of Ukraine (Ukravtodor), the CFTS portal reports.
According to the latest data from Ukravtodor, the foundation and 2-3 layers of asphalt or cement concrete were laid on 3,357 kilometers of roads (financed with state budget funds) last year. Similar work was performed on 161 kilometers of roads (financed with funds from international financial institutions). The top layer of asphalt concrete on 538 kilometers of road was restored.
In terms of types of work performed, 204.1 kilometers of state roads were newly built or reconstructed, major repairs were performed on 499.3 kilometers, and maintenance work was performed on 2,815.2 kilometers.
In addition, 158 artificial structures were renovated in 2020. In particular, 13 such structures were built or reconstructed, 33 were overhauled, and 54 underwent moderate maintenance. An additional 58 facilities were renovated with funds from international financial institutions.
In addition, Ukravtodor performed surface treatment of 476 kilometers of roads as part of the maintenance work on them in 2020.
According to Ukravtodor, the target for maintenance and renovation of artificial structures was achieved and 97% of the target for repair and construction of roads was achieved in 2020.
