The Ukrainian Railways public joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) has imposed a ban on transportation of all goods and empty wagons, including transportation on transit through Ukraine, for a number of companies from Russia, the Interfax Ukraine news agency reports.

Ukrzaliznytsia’s directive No. Ts-2/101 dated May 18, 2017, bans transportation of goods in wagons belonging to the companies Sberbank Leasing, SG Trans, NefteTransService, the First Freight Company, the Federal Freight Company, Promtransinvest, the First Cargo Company Ukraine, the Rail 1520 Service, Agrokompleks, Aston Food Ingredients, and several branches of SG Trans.

The ban was introduced on May 18.

According to Ukrzaliznytsia, this decision is in implementation of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko’s decree No. 133 of May 15, 2017, which enacted the relevant decision of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) dated April 28, which imposed sanctions on a number of Russian companies.

As reported, the Federal Freight Company, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, is on the Ukrainian sanctions list.
