The Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) exported 804,900 tons of grain cargo in June 2022, compared with 807,000 tons in the preceding month.

The deputy director of Ukrzaliznytsia’s department of commercial operations, Valerii Tkachev, announced this during an online meeting with industry representatives, the CFTS portal reports, citing the Interfax Ukraine news agency.

According to him, 639,900 tons of grain was transported through overland border crossings on Ukraine’s western border and 165,000 tons delivered to ports.

Tkachev added that Ukrzaliznytsia loaded 1.23 million tons of grain into wagons in June 2022, which represented 14% of the total of 8.57 million tons that was loaded.

The volume of transportation of grain cargoes through Ukrzaliznytsia in June was 1.36 million tons, which is 10.5% higher than the loading volume during this period.

According to Tkachev, the average volume of freight loaded into wagons per day was 38,000 tons in June. This indicator tends to decrease on weekends: on average, 26,000 tons are loaded into Ukrzaliznytsia wagons on weekdays compared with 50,000-70,000 tons on weekends.
