The Ukrainian High-Speed Rail Company (a subsidiary of the Ukrzaliznytsia railway company and the operator of the trains Intercity and Intercity+ high-speed trains) has made a loss of UAH 864.2 million since the beginning of 2015. UNN reported his, citing a response to an information request.

"Given the significant increase in the producer prices of raw materials and other materials, the rise of foreign currencies [against the hryvnia], and the financial burden, the company's losses amounted to UAH 864.2 million in the first 11 months of this year. This is 2.5 times more than the losses in the same period of last year and nine times more than the losses in 2013," the Ukrainian High-Speed Rail Company said.

In addition, according to the company, prices of materials, fuel, electricity, and spare parts, as well as the cost of repairs, are expected to rise further in 2016.
