The Ukrainian Railways public joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) will begin testing a ТЭ33АС Trident locomotive produced by the General Electric company (United States) on its rail network on November 8, the CFTS portal reports, citing Ukrzaliznytsia’s head Yevhen Kravtsov.

“The first GE diesel locomotive will be on rail tracks tomorrow. They will undergo tests in real conditions on Ukrainian railways. The Trident will travel 150 kilometers on the Kremenchuk-Romodan railway stretch as part of a freight train. It will be operated by a team from Melitopil, who studied the operating specifics of the TE33AS in Kazakhstan," Kravtsov said.

As reported earlier, the assembly of the TE33AS was finished at the Kryukov Railcar Building Works.

Kravtsov once again drew attention to the fact that the first 15 American locomotives are already in Ukraine and that an additional 15 will arrive in the first quarter of 2019.
