The Kryukov Railcar Building Works (Kremenchuk, Poltava region) continued to fulfill the order for the production of passenger cars for the Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) under a 2021 contract in 2022.

The Poltava regional military administration’s head Dmytro Lunin announced this to the Kremenchukska newspaper, the CFTS portal reports.

"The Kryukov Railcar Building Works is fulfilling the state order: 45 of the 70 passenger cars have already been delivered," the regional publication quoted Lunin as saying.

According to him, the company has received payment for the delivered products. Thanks to the help of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Ministry of Finance, UAH 1.8 billion in budgetary allocations have been unlocked to allow the conduct of full settlements between Ukrzaliznytsia and the Kryukov Railcar Building Works in 2022.

The Kryukov Railcar Building Works delivered 20 passenger cars to Ukrzaliznytsia under the mentioned contract before the end of 2021. The Kryukov Railcar Building Works has manufactured and delivered 25 passenger cars to the railway company this year. These include at least 10 passenger cars built before the beginning of the Russian invasion (in January).

As reported earlier, Ukrzaliznytsia secured the opportunity to purchase railcars with state budget funds for the first time in 2021. Ukrzaliznytsia and the Kryukov Railcar Building Works signed a contract for the supply of 100 passenger cars in June 2021.
