The Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) transported 35.2 million tons of grain cargo in 2020.
Ukrzaliznytsia announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.
Most of the grain (30.5 million tons) was export grain, 4.4 million tons domestic, 101,300 tons imported, and 214,000 tons transit.
Grain accounted for 11.5% of the total volume of cargo transported by rail in Ukraine last year.
According to Ukrzaliznytsia, the company accounted for about 61% of the total volume of transportation of grain cargoes in 2020, but it is ready to increase its volume of grain shipments.
As reported earlier, Ukrzaliznytsia transported more than 40 million tons of cargo to the European Union and back in 2020.
