The Centrenergo power company plans to purchase 1.5 million tons of steam coal from September. The coal should be transshipped at the Yuzhny seaport, the TIS Terminal, and the Chornomorsk seaport.

As the CFTS portal reported, the relevant tender for provision of services involving transportation and forwarding of the imported coal was announced in the ProZorro public procurement system. The expected cost of the services is UAH 335,850.

The tender is divided into three lots. According to the tender, 600,000 tons of coal will be handled at the Yuzhny seaport (300,000 tons by the Yuzhny seaport itself and 300,000 tons by the TIS Terminal). An additional 300,000 tons of coal intended for meeting the needs of Centrenergo will be handled by the Chornomorsk seaport.

The period of delivery of the goods in all three cases is between September 1, 2018, and May 31, 2019.

The winner of the tender is expected to be determined on September 14.

As reported earlier, the Yuzhny seaport handled 1.6 million tons of steam coal for Ukrainian thermal power plants from May 2017 to July 2018. The coal was delivered from the United States and South Africa to Centrenergo and LLC DTEK.

In addition, a bulk carrier carrying 75,000 tons of anthracite from South Africa was unloaded at the Chornomorsk seaport in November last year.

This year, the Yuzhny seaport has already processed two vessels carrying steam coal from the United States (74,400 tons in May and 59,000 tons in June).
