President Volodymyr Zelenskyi has approved the Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine on the Carriage of Freight by Road.
The CFTS portal reported this, citing the Ukrainska Pravda publication.
"The Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine on the Carriage of Freight by Road, which was concluded in the city of Lyon on 29 June 2022, is to be approved," the presidential decree on the approval of the agreement states.
Ukraine and the European Union signed the Agreement on the Carriage of Freight by Road on 29 June.
The agreement exempts Ukrainian transport companies from the requirement to obtain the appropriate permits for transit and bilateral international carriage operations between Ukraine and the European Union and ensures that Ukrainian export goods will not be stopped at road checkpoints.
The agreement also provides for measures to simplify the procedure for recognizing driver's licenses. Ukraine and the EU will now exempt the holders of driving licenses issued by the other party from the requirement to hold an international driving permit.
The agreement was signed for one year, after which it may be extended. It came into effect temporarily on the day of its signing.
