President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi ordered the relevant agencies to facilitate the continuation of the operation of the grain corridor (the humanitarian maritime corridor established by the Black Sea Grain Initiative to allow ships to export grain and other foodstuffs from Ukraine) through diplomatic and military means after a meeting of Ukrainian Military High Command on 21 July.
"High Command. We continue to work systematically to protect our ports and the infrastructure of the grain initiative. We understand the risks, threats, and prospects. Reports by Navy Commander Neizhpapa and Deputy Prime Minister Kubrakov," Zelenskyi said in a statement in his Telegram channel, the CFTS portal reports.
"Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhnyi, Commander Neizhpapa, and Minister Kubrakov are to prepare a set of actions for continuing the operation of the grain corridor. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to prepare similar diplomatic steps," Zelenskyi said.
As the CFTS portal reported earlier, Ukraine recently notified the International Maritime Organization that it is establishing a recommended temporary maritime route to facilitate grain deliveries following Russia’s withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which established a humanitarian maritime corridor to allow ships to export grain and other foodstuffs from Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has announced that Ukraine may consider all vessels sailing through the Black Sea to Russian seaports and Ukrainian seaports in territories temporarily occupied by Russia as vessels carrying military cargo, with all the accompanying risks, from 00:00 on 21 July 2023, the CFTS portal reports.
