Resumption of direct flights on the Odesa-Varna route is one of the priority areas of development of transport links between Ukraine and Bulgaria.
A memorandum of cooperation between the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority and the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company (the Bulgarian counterpart of the USPA) was signed during a working visit to Bulgaria by experts from the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
The Dniproavia airline will begin flights to Bulgaria on 30 December by launching regular Kyiv-Sofia flights. On 19 January 2016, the frequency of the flights will be increased to twice a week.
Bulgaria supports reconstruction of the Highway M15 (Odesa-Reni, to Bucharest), and it is ready to help Ukraine obtain European Union funds for financing development of the documentation for the project.
Ukraine and Bulgaria intend to restore direct air and rail links between the two countries. An agreement to this effect was reached on 13 November during a visit to Sofia by Infrastructure Minister Andrii Pyvovarskyi.
