Two companies - DO & CO Kyiv and Royal Catering - will provide in-flight catering services to airline companies at the Boryspil airport from February 1, 2014. The Boryspil International Airport state enterprise has general agreements for provision of in-flight catering services with these two companies, the press service of the airport has announced.

The Boryspil airport will deny the third in-flight catering operator – the AIRO Catering Services Ukraine company – access to airport infrastructure, primarily access to the controlled and protected areas of the airport, from February 1. The airport recently explained that it was taking this step because the company’s lease agreement had expired and directed the company to the State Property Fund, which is now responsible for lease agreements on the territory of the airport.

According to the press service of the Boryspil airport, AIRO Catering Services Ukraine has also not concluded a general agreement with the airport’s operator (the MA Boryspil state enterprise), which is a violation of the requirements of the Air Code of Ukraine.

The property lease agreement with AIRO Catering Services Ukraine was signed for a period of five years in 1997 with the option of extending it based on written confirmation by both parties.

After the Commercial Code of Ukraine and amendments to the law "On Lease of State and Municipal Property" entered into force in 2004, the right to act as the landlord for state property transferred from the state enterprise to the regional office of the State Property Fund, as a result of which the airport could no longer renew the agreement.
