The Kryukov Railcar Building Works has not produced passenger cars this year but it has increased production of freight cars seven-fold, the UNIAN news agency reports.

It produced 719 freight cars in the period of January-May 2016, which are 612 more than it produced in the corresponding period of last year.

The company did not produce passenger cars in January-May 2016. A similar situation was observed throughout 2015. At the same time, the company upgraded 25 subway cars for the Kyiv subway and produced five new cars in 2015. The company sold one diesel train (three cars) to the Ukrzaliznytsia public railway company in September 2015.

As CFTS reported in April, the Kryukov Railcar Building Works has signed a contract to supply 750 wagons to Turkmenistan. This was announced by the enterprise’s Board Chairman Anatolii Shabala.

According to him, the entire consignment should be delivered before June 2016. The value of the contract was not disclosed.

"We will deliver 375 gondola cars and 375 freight cars to them," Shabala said.

Delivery of Ukrainian wagons to Turkmenistan was recently reported. It was suggested that the relevant contract was awarded to the Kryukov Railcar Building Works, but the company did not want to confirm it.
